Presenting The LANDSCAPE Project at the 12th International Conference for Healthcare and Medical Students (ICHAMS)

Mohammad Almulla, Medical Student and Student Researcher with the LANDSCAPE Child and Adolescent Obesity Project Team recently presented at the 12th International Conference for Healthcare and Medical Students (ICHAMS) held at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin from the 9th to 11th of February 2023. Mohammad presented a poster detailing focus group methods with health professionals in Ireland for qualitative data collection as part of the LANDSCAPE Project.
ICHAMS provides a platform for healthcare students from different fields to present their research, share their experiences, and engage in discussions on a variety of topics in healthcare and medicine. The conference was an excellent opportunity for young researchers to network, learn from their peers, and gain valuable feedback on their work.
During the conference, Mohammad also presented preliminary results from this work package of the LANDSCAPE Project which highlighted challenges identified by healthcare professionals in providing care to children and adolescents living with obesity and their families in Ireland. This conference abstract will be published in BMC Proceedings. Further analysis of the focus group data collected is underway in addition to next steps of the project.
